We're still working on our recommended amount and procedure for including a protein powder to ensure we're only sharing based on our experience. However, we're working on having some whey-based protein powder into the mix to pack an added oomph for the hard-working or hard workout days. It may work well in the core mixture, the chocolate topping or both.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Granola Bar
4 cup Oats
½ cup Honey
¼ tsp salt
1 cup Peanut Butter
¼ cup Coconut Butter
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1 tsp Cinnamon
½ cup Chocolate Chips
Top drizzle
¼ cup Peanut Butter
¼ cup Chocolate Chips
1 Tbsp Coconut oil
A sprinkle of flaky salt to taste (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Mix all ingredients together until thoroughly mixed.
Put parchment paper into a 9x9 pan, pour contents in, and pat down into a packed even layer. Bake for 12-15 min.
While baking the bars, get a pot on low heat, put peanut butter and coconut oil in until mixed into a thin liquid and add chocolate chips. Turn off the heat and mix until smooth. Once the bars are out of the oven, you can drizzle over them immediately or wait until they have cooled to pour for a more defined drizzle. Then sprinkle some flaky salt on top to taste.
